Lake Tekapo

Lake Tekapo is an alpine lake located at the northern end of the Mackenzie Basin in the central South Island. The surface of the lake shines with a unique milky turquoise color due to the flow of meltwater containing fine rocks carved by the glaciers of the Southern Alps.
