Hollyford Track
There are many tracks (trekking trails) where you can enjoy the beautiful nature of Fiordland, but the Hollyford Track is one of the most popular, as it is less crowded and offers an unspoiled natural experience. The 56-km-long track starts in the Hollyford Valley at the northern end of Fiordland, passes through Lake Alabaster and Lake McKerrow, and ends at Martin's Bay, where you can enjoy the varied beauty of nature, including mountains, rivers, lakes that were once inlets of the fjord, and sand dunes along the coast.
Fjordland
Fjordland stretches along the west coast of Southland, the southernmost tip of New Zealand's South Island. The rugged terrain consisting of the Southern Alps and the intricate coastal fjords has created a magnificent wilderness with few inhabitants. The area is one of the largest national parks in the world and is popular for activities that allow visitors to experience the great outdoors, such as sightseeing boats that take visitors on a tour of the many waterfalls that flow down from the steep mountain sides into the intricate sea.
