Lake Batur

Lake Batur is a half-moon shaped lake filled with water in the vast caldera of Kintamani, and is famous as one of Bali's most beautiful scenic spots. The lake, which plays the role of a water bottle supplying water to the rice fields of central Bali, has been registered as a World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape. The highlight of the lake is the impressive view of Mount Batur, which rises in the center of the caldera and is reflected in the calm surface of the lake.

Mount Batur stands out in the magnificent landscape of Kintamani. The 1,717-meter-high summit is a large caldera crater hill, and together with Lake Batur, which fills the caldera with water, it forms one of the most beautiful natural features in Bali.
