Seltjarnarnes, Iceland
Grotta lighthouse
Grotta lighthouse stands at the end of the Seltjarnarnes peninsula, west of Reykjavik. You can reach the foot of the lighthouse, which stands on the small island of Grotta, via a path that appears only at low tide. This is an observation spot with an open view of the beautiful sea and sky. The sunset view of the sun setting over the ocean and the night view of the stars and aurora borealis are especially beautiful.
Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the northernmost capital city on the planet. A compact city with colorful buildings, it is the perfect base for sightseeing with its many hotels, delicious restaurants and bars. Many travelers visit Reykjavik as a base for driving around the rich natural environment. You can see the aurora borealis in the city, and experience the midnight sun in the summer, all of which are unique to the north.
