Athabasca River
The Athabasca River flows for approximately 1,231 km from its source in the Athabasca Glacier, which flows out of the Columbia Icefield high in the Canadian Rockies, until it empties into Lake Athabasca in the far northeast. In Jasper National Park, the upper reaches of the river, beautiful reflections of mountains on the surface of the water and dynamic waterfalls attract many tourists.
