Palatine Hill (Domus Septimi Severi)
The Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome, is also considered to be the place where Rome was founded, and is said to have been inhabited around 1000 BC. It is said to have been inhabited around 1000 B.C. During the Roman era, it was a high-class residential area where aristocrats and successive emperors resided. From Palatine Hill, you can see that the ancient public square in the valley, the Roman Forum, was surrounded by small hills, making it a natural fortress. Surrounded by trees, the hill is a perfect place to take a stroll, as it still retains many of the features of the magnificent ancient Rome that lasted for hundreds of years.
