Rome, Italy
Imperial fora (Temple of Peace)
The Imperial fora is a collection of public squares created by the emperors of ancient Rome. When the Roman Forum became too small due to population growth, Caesar invested his own money to build a foro (public square) on its northern side in 54. For the next century and a half, successive emperors continued to build folios on this site as a sign of their power. Along with the foro, the remains of the marketplace are still visible, providing an interesting insight into the lives of the people of that time.
Rome
Rome, the capital of Italy, is steeped in ancient history. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and other magnificent ruins dating back 2,000 years can be seen here and there. The post-medieval streets and squares that were built on top of the ancient city are also a must-see for their beauty. Whether you are touring the Trevi Fountain, the Mouth of Truth, Piazza di Spagna, or sampling local delicacies such as carbonara and amatriciana, there is no shortage of things to do in the Eternal City.
