Hohensalzburg Fortress

Hohensalzburg Fortress is a fortress built on Festungsberg, a small hill in the old city of Salzburg. It has never been captured since its construction in the 11th century and was surrendered intact during the Napoleonic Wars in 1816, making it a valuable historical heritage site where the strong fortress architecture remains in its medieval form.
