Mono Lake

Mono Lake, located on the eastern outskirts of Yosemite National Park, was formed by an eruption about 760,000 years ago and is considered one of the oldest lakes in North America. Since there are no rivers flowing out of the lake, salt has accumulated, making the lake three times thicker than seawater. The limestone pillars called "tufa towers" stand in a forest, creating a unique landscape that is especially fantastic in the evening.

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park, located in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, is a paradise for flora and fauna, with its wilderness of virgin forests, valleys and lakes. The park is full of attractions such as giant sequoia trees, El Capitan, the world's largest granite monolith, and Yosemite Falls, the largest waterfall in the U.S. You can enjoy nature throughout the year, camping and trekking from spring to autumn, and skiing in winter.
