Skjálfandafljót River
The Skjálfandafljót River flows through northern Iceland. Stretching 178 kilometers, it is the country’s fourth longest river. Along its glacier-fed course, countless waterfalls can be found, making the river valley a treasure trove of scenic beauty. Among them is Goðafoss—one of North Iceland’s most beloved natural attractions and a highlight along the popular Diamond Circle route.
Diamond Circle
In northeastern Iceland, the Diamond Circle is a classic tourist route that takes you through a variety of unique landscapes created by volcanic activity. Starting from the central city of Akureyri in the north, the 250km route will take you to the jade-colored waters of Lake Mývatn and the Dettifoss Waterfall, one of Europe's largest waterfalls, and other spectacular natural formations.
