Museum of Tomorrow
In the Centro district of Rio de Janeiro, a building that looks like a white whale emerging from the sea is the Museum of Tomorrow, which opened in 2015. The design by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava is striking, with its organic shapes that seem to be inspired by birds and plants. The unique exterior is not the only thing that attracts people to the museum, however - the new type of exhibition it offers, which makes you think about the history of humanity and where we are headed in the future, is also a big draw.
Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is a metropolis of great beauty, with a unique landscape created by its intricate coastline and rugged mountains. The hills of Corcovado, overlooking the islands of Guanabara Bay, and the shining white sands of Copacabana and Ipanema have been the source of literature and music. Rio Carnival, with its jubilant samba rhythms, is renowned as one of the world's greatest festivals.
