Lokrum Island
Located in the sea not far from the Old Town of Dubrovnik, the lush green island of Lokrum is home to the ruins of a Benedictine monastery built in the early 11th century and a fort built by the French who occupied Dubrovnik in the 19th century. Today, the island is a popular tourist destination as a resort island where visitors can stroll in the shade of the trees and swim at the beach, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Dubrovnik
Facing the azure Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik's solid medieval walls and orange roofs are still intact. The beautiful cityscape, which preserves the prosperity of the maritime city of the Republic of Ragusa, has been praised as the "Pearl of the Adriatic. After overcoming the civil war of the 1990s, Dubrovnik has regained its former glory and is attracting more and more attention as a major tourist destination in recent years.
