While strolling under the 500-meter-long wisteria trellises, visitors can appreciate the variety of colorful wisteria flowers imported from all over Japan, from Hakodate in the north to Bonotsu in Kagoshima Prefecture in the south.
Bizen and Ushimado
Bizen is blessed with a rich history and beautiful sea. It's famous for traditional Bizen Pottery, which has its roots in the Kofun Period (Mid 3rd - 7th century), and visitors can experience the charm of this simple and beautiful pottery by touring the many kilns and enjoying pottery making. The seaside towns with beautiful views of the Seto Inland Sea, such as Ushimado, where olive groves spread and is called "Aegean Sea of Japan", and Hinase, a fishing town known for its fresh seafood, are also spots not to be missed.
