Zermatt, Switzerland
Schwarzsee
Schwarzsee is a gondola lift station located southwest of Zermatt at 2,583 meters above sea level. Nearby is the small lake of the same name, whose surface reflects the chapel built on its banks and the Alpine mountains. This scenic spot with a close view of the Matterhorn is the base for numerous hiking routes, and in winter it is also the access point to the ski slopes.
Matterhorn
Located on the border between Switzerland and Italy, the 4,478-meter-high Matterhorn is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Alps. The sharp, pyramid-like peak against the blue sky is a magnet for people from all over the world. There are many observation spots and hiking trails that allow non-mountaineers to view the mountain easily, including a mountain climbing train and a ropeway.
