The dive sites in Ari Atoll are said to be among the most densely populated in the Maldives. There is a wide variety of fish species, and the atolls have a wide variety of unique dive sites. In the long north-south direction of the atoll, it is common to stay at a particular point of interest. The southern part of the atoll has many of the best whale shark encounters in the Maldives, while the northern part of the atoll offers access to Fish Head, one of the best dive sites in the Maldives, and Rasdhoo Atoll, famous for its hammerhead sharks.
Ari Atoll
Ari Atoll is located to the west of the North and South Male Atolls and is the largest of the 26 atolls at 93 km from north to south and 33 km from east to west, making it one of the most popular atolls in the Maldives. It is easily accessible by seaplane or speedboat from the international airport in Male. It is one of the best dive sites in the Maldives in terms of the density and variety of fish, and is characterized by its many famous dive sites. The southern part of the atoll is also known as a spot where whale sharks can be seen.
