Palamidi
The Palamidi Fortress, a masterpiece of Venetian fortification built in 1714, is perched on a high hill, visible from all parts of Nafplio. It boasts eight independent bastions, each of which is strong enough to maintain its defensive function even if the other bastions are breached by the enemy. From the top of the fortress, which still retains its original appearance, one can enjoy a magnificent view of the Peloponnese that extends all the way to the city of Nafplio, the surrounding sea, and the mountains on the opposite shore.
