Olvera
The town of Olvera is nestled in the hills of olive groves northeast of Sierra de Cádiz. The contrast between the Arab castles and Catholic churches built on the hills and the pure white houses typical of Andalusia is striking. Besides strolling at your leisure through the narrow alleys of the old town surrounded by whitewashed walls and admiring the surrounding countryside from the heights, there are also beautiful hiking routes to the surrounding nature reserve that make for a fulfilling stay.
Andalusia's White Towns Route
When you think of Andalusia, the simple village where white-walled houses stand out against the blue sky comes to mind. There are many such white towns and villages in the area between the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga. The beauty of the scenery, with houses painted white with lime to protect them from the heat and colorful flowers in potted plants, is something you will never get tired of seeing. There are many ways to enjoy the refreshing village scenery: take a road trip to visit several towns on a drive, or stay in a small village and enjoy a walk in the intricate alleys.
