Kelso Dunes
The Kelso Dunes, located in the western part of the Mojave National Reserve, are a vast world of sand that covers an area of about 120 square kilometers and is up to 200 meters high. As you climb the majestic dunes, which look like natural pyramids, you will see beautiful sand crests that change their shape with the wind, and vast views of the plains and mountains that stretch forever beyond the sand.
Mojave National Preserve
The Mojave Desert is a vast area that spans four states in the United States. Part of it in California is preserved as the Mojave National Preserve. In the reserve, you can see the third highest sand dune in the U.S., the Kelso Sand Dunes, 2,000-meter-high rocky mountains, Joshua tree forests, and cactus colonies, and various trail courses are popular for enjoying the varied scenery.
