Plum Grove at Kinyuji
The Kinyuji Plum Grove, located in Sennan City, is one of the largest plum groves in Senshu. From the end of February to the middle of March every year, the area is filled with the sweet and sour scent of plum blossoms of various colors, including the white blossoms of the Kinyuji plum trees. During the season, a teahouse is set up on the premises, where visitors can relax and enjoy cherry blossom viewing while sipping sweet sake and buying the thick-fleshed, small-seeded pickled plums.
Located in the southern part of Osaka, the Senshu area is blessed with rich nature and historical heritage. The area is famous for its agriculture and fishery, and specialties such as onions, eggplant, conger eel, and blue crab, etc. There are many attractions to visit, including a huge 5th century burial mound, traditional industries unique to a town of merchants, and places famous for seasonal flowers such as cherry and plum blossoms. You can discover the hidden charms of Osaka at the doorstep of Kansai International Airport, the gateway to western Japan.
