Umeda New Pedestrian Bridge

The Umeda New Pedestrian Bridge, which spans the south terminal of JR Osaka Station, was donated in 1964 by Konosuke Matsushita, founder of Panasonic Corporation, and has become an indispensable part of Umeda for pedestrians passing through the city. Standing on the bridge, you can enjoy a panoramic view of landmarks such as Osaka Station covered by a large roof in the north, Hankyu Department Store in the east, and Hanshin Department Store in the south, which helps you grasp the geography of central Osaka.

Kita

Kita (means "north") and Minami (means "south") are the two major shopping areas in Osaka. Kita is the gateway to Osaka where many railroad stations are located, and the business and entertainment districts are spread out around Osaka Station. It is lined with high-class hotels and commercial facilities with cutting-edge stores, and has a more stylish and sophisticated atmosphere than Minami, but at its feet is a chaotic underground mall where even locals are said to get lost.
