Medina of Tangier
The medina (old city) of Tangier is located on a hill facing the Strait of Gibraltar. The medina is smaller and easier to walk around than Marrakech or Fez, with many white-walled buildings due to its history as a Spanish territory. Surrounded by strong walls built during the Portuguese occupation, the beautiful Medina with its white buildings against the blue sea is always crowded with people as a gateway to Africa that can be visited on a day trip from the European continent.
Tangier
The city of Tangier, located on the Strait of Gibraltar, has prospered since B.C. as a gateway between Europe and Africa. This multi-ethnic city with its mix of cultures has a unique charm that has attracted artists such as Delacroix and Matisse. In addition to exploring the alleyways of the old town, surrounded by fortified walls, you can also enjoy the pleasures of the resort area by relaxing on the wide beach overlooking the strait.
