Lake Hawea
Lake Hawea, a glacial valley running parallel to Lake Wanaka, is the ninth largest lake in New Zealand, with a depth of about 392 meters and a length of about 35 kilometers from north to south. Surrounded by rugged mountains, there are plenty of activities to take advantage of the natural beauty of the area. It is an outdoor paradise where you can be active with fishing, swimming, jet boating and skiing, or you can relax with hiking and picnics on the shores of the lake.
Wanaka
The vast Lake Wanaka, located in the heart of the Otago region, is a picturesque scenic spot surrounded by mountains over 2,000 meters high. Located at the southern end of the lake, which is long and narrow from north to south, Wanaka is a town where many people stay at leisure as a sightseeing base for this area rich in nature.
