Nara, Japan
Odaigahara
Odaigahara is a dynamic terrain of mountains and valleys centered on Hidegatake, located on the border between Nara and Mie prefectures. The moist winds blowing from the Kumano-nada Sea bring a large amount of rainfall, making this one of the rainiest areas in Japan, and the pristine forests are home to a rich ecosystem. The unique scenery of standing dead trees and sheer cliffs attracts many hikers from spring to autumn.
Okuyoshino
Okuyoshino, located in the southernmost part of Nara Prefecture, is separated from the outside world by the Kii Mountains and still retains its own culture and dialect. The unexplored region, accessible only by bus or car, is home to the World Heritage Kumano Pilgrimage Route, a suspension bridge over a river, beautiful water-filled valleys, and mountains with spectacular views of the Kii Mountains. While staying in this luxurious hot spring resort with hot spring water flowing directly from the source, you can fully enjoy the deep nature and culture of the area.
