Middle Atlas

The vast Atlas Mountains cross North Africa. Morocco is divided into three major mountain ranges. The northernmost of these, the Middle Atlas, is characterized by towering mountains over 3,000 meters high, and a rich natural environment of rocks, forests, lakes, and rivers. In Morocco, which has a strong image of deserts, people are attracted by its different and varied landscape. In winter, the mountains are covered with snow, and there is a ski resort at the foot of the mountains, which is rare in Africa.
