Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle was built on a rocky hill in Schwangau, a suburb of Füssen. Although it was a new castle whose construction began in 1869, after the Industrial Revolution, it was designed as a medieval knight's castle that King Ludwig II of Bavaria had admired. The beautiful appearance of the castle, which has served as a model for numerous movies and theme parks, has attracted tourists from all over the world, and it is now one of the most popular tourist spots in Germany.

Füssen

Füssen is the terminus of the Romantic Road, which runs from central to southern Germany. It is a small town nestled on the banks of the Lech River, a tributary of the Danube. The landmark High Castle and the pastel-colored streets are perfect for strolling. Füssen is also a bustling hub for visiting Neuschwanstein Castle, a nearby tourist attraction, with its many hotels and restaurants.
