Fishing Port in Essaouira
The city of Essaouira, facing the Atlantic Ocean, has one of the best fishing ports in Morocco. Just a short walk from Hassan Square in the Medina (old town), the fishing port is lined with small blue fishing boats, selling fresh seafood on the spot. You can see the lively daily life of the people landing the fish, the sounds of the market, and the seagulls trying to get a piece of the goods.
Essaouira
Essaouira, a city on the Atlantic coast, has been known as a good port since B.C. It was founded in the 18th century by the current dynasty as the closest port city to Marrakech, based on a fortress built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. In addition to the beauty of the old town with its rows of white houses facing the blue sea, the lively fishing port and beaches with a wide range of activities attract travelers with a variety of attractions.
