Vítkov Hill

Along the railroad tracks extending from Prague's main train station is the small Vítkov Hill overlooking the city. This is a place that was an important stage in various phases of the turbulent history of the Czech Republic. Today, the hilltop is a lush green walking path centered on the equestrian statue of the medieval Czech hero Jan Žižka, and is a relaxing spot to rest and enjoy the beautiful Prague scenery.

Žižkov

Žižkov, located east of Prague's main train station, is a young people's town with many pubs and nightclubs. Its landmark is the Žižkov Television Tower, the tallest in the Czech Republic. Its unique modern design, different from the medieval spires of Prague, the city of a hundred towers, is eye-catching. Often overlooked by tourists, the district has many other secret attractions, such as the green Vítkov Hill and the New Jewish Cemetery, where Franz Kafka is buried.
