Lake Wanaka

Lake Wanaka is the fourth largest lake in New Zealand, measuring about 45 km from north to south and about 6 km from east to west. More than 10,000 years ago, water accumulated in a U-shaped valley carved out by glaciers over a long period of time and formed a lake. The beautiful scenery of the intricate blue lake and the surrounding mountains attracts many tourists throughout the year, who come to enjoy the activities on the lake such as kayaking and boating.

Wanaka
