Geysir geothermal area
Geysers are underground water heated by geothermal energy that erupts from the ground. The Geysir geothermal area is where many of these geysers gather. Located on the Golden Circle, one of the most popular sightseeing areas in Iceland, many visitors come to see the show of nature. The largest geyser, Strokkur, frequently erupts 20 meters above the ground, allowing visitors to feel the pulse of the earth.
Golden Circle
The Golden Circle is a classic tourist route that takes you through the spectacular natural art of Iceland. The most popular spots are the Þingvellir National Park, with the cracks of the continental plates appearing on the surface of the earth; the Geysir, which erupts from the earth; and the Gullfoss Waterfall, where the glacier flows and makes a mighty splash. There are many tours from Reykjavik that will take you to the heartbeat of the earth.
