Solheimasandur Plane Wreck

Solheimasandur is a sand and gravel area that stretches between the south coast of Iceland and the inland cliffs. Lying on the black sandy soil made of lava is the wreckage of an American DC-3 airplane. The sight of it standing in the barren land like the surface of the moon is like a scene from a movie. It is a unique photo spot that gives a mysterious impression to the viewer.
