Iya Valley

Part of the Iya River, a tributary of the Yoshino River, is a deep ravine surrounded by mountains and is called the Iya Gorge. There are many ways to enjoy the valley, from viewing the magnificent scenery from the observatory to crossing the old-fashioned Kazura Bridge. It is also a great place to relax and soak in the hidden Iya hot springs.

Iya and Oboke

Iya in Tokushima Prefecture, one of the three most unexplored regions in Japan, has an impressive landscape of gorges carved by folded mountains and beautiful villages spread out on the mountainside. To the west of Iya Gorge, where the traditional Kazura Bridge spans, there are another scenic gorges called Oboke and Koboke along the Yoshino River. You can enjoy the nature of the deep mountains and rich rivers while staying at a ryokan with hot springs that gush forth.
