Dubrovnik, Croatia
Franciscan monastery
The Franciscan monastery and church stands facing Stradun, the main street in Old Town Dubrovnik. The church is a simple structure with an eye-catching landmark bell tower when seen from the street, but inside it hides a beautiful cloister surrounding a courtyard covered with greenery. The monastery, which includes a library with a valuable collection of books, a pharmacy that has been in business since the 14th century, and other historic facilities, is one of the most popular attractions in the old town.
Dubrovnik
Facing the azure Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik's solid medieval walls and orange roofs are still intact. The beautiful cityscape, which preserves the prosperity of the maritime city of the Republic of Ragusa, has been praised as the "Pearl of the Adriatic. After overcoming the civil war of the 1990s, Dubrovnik has regained its former glory and is attracting more and more attention as a major tourist destination in recent years.
