Dubrovnik, Croatia
Lovrijenac
Towering on the western cliffs across the bay from the Old Town of Dubrovnik is the Fort Lovrijenac. It stands on a 37-meter-high cliff and has protected Dubrovnik since the 12th century. The main attraction is the 360-degree panoramic view of the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea, and Mount Surj. In summer, it becomes a theater, and Hamlet performed here is the centerpiece event of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
Dubrovnik
Facing the azure Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik's solid medieval walls and orange roofs are still intact. The beautiful cityscape, which preserves the prosperity of the maritime city of the Republic of Ragusa, has been praised as the "Pearl of the Adriatic. After overcoming the civil war of the 1990s, Dubrovnik has regained its former glory and is attracting more and more attention as a major tourist destination in recent years.
