Takarayama Park

Takarayama Park is located on the southeastern slope of Mt. Takura (also known as “Takarayama”). The park has a walking trail and an observatory, from which visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of the Yakuno Plateau and the overlapping mountains. The park is famous for its autumn foliage in fall and for the sea of clouds that can be seen early in the morning from fall through winter, attracting many hikers and photographers during the season.

Fukuchiyama

Located where the Yura River flows through the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture, changing its course from west to north, Fukuchiyama has a long history as a transportation hub. 16th century warlord Akechi Mitsuhide flooded the Yura River, which was a raging river, and built a castle and castle town. The beautifully restored castle tower in the center of the city, which still retains the atmosphere of the castle town, has become a symbol of Fukuchiyama. Nearby, there are many places of interest where history and nature are interwoven, such as Oeyama, where the legend of oni (demons) remains, and Ama-no-Iwato Shrine, where mythology is still alive.
