Kyoto Gyoen National Garden
The Kyoto Imperial Palace has been the residence of the emperor and the center of politics since the Heian period. The Kyoto Gyoen National Garden is the national park that surrounds it. The park is 700 meters long from east to west and 1,300 meters long from north to south, and is open to the public at all times except for the Imperial Palace and the State Guest House. The park, decorated with old trees over 100 years old and seasonal flowers, is a relaxing space loved by citizens and tourists.
