Maegahata Pass
Maegahata Pass, located on Route 477 near the village of Momoi in Ohara, is a difficult slope known only to those in the know. National highways all over Japan have sections that are difficult to pass because they are narrow or poorly maintained, and this is one of them. There is no end to the number of people who ride road bikes and try to complete this mountainous road.
Ohara
Ohara is a satoyama (which means woodland close to the living area) in Kyoto, rich in nature. You can enjoy visiting the Tendai sect temples that stand quietly at the foot of Mount Hiei, or take a leisurely stroll through the peaceful landscape of mountains and rice fields. There are also many restaurants where you can enjoy local specialties such as shibazuke and fresh local ingredients.
