Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is one of the world's leading tourist cities, facing the Mediterranean Sea and blessed with a mild climate. It is famous for its architecture by Antoni Gaudí, who was active in the 19th century, and especially for the splendor of the Sagrada Familia, which is still being built today. The city's large area is also home to many other attractions, such as the historic Gothic Quarter, Montjuïc with its many museums, and Tibidabo, which offers a panoramic view of Barcelona.
