Cherry Blossom Walk-through at Japan Mint
The Japan Mint, facing the open promenade along the Okawa River, is well known for the "Cherry Blossom Walk-through" held every year from early to mid-April. About 340 trees of 140 varieties, mainly Yae-zakura, which bloom later than Someiyoshino, are planted, and the event of passing through the site where soft, round flowers bloom in clusters has become a springtime tradition in Osaka.
Osaka Castle Area
Osaka Castle was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1583 on the northern edge of the Uemachi Plateau, which has long been the stage of history as the high ground of the Osaka Plain. Today, this place, which is essential to the history of Osaka, is home to a lush green park that has become an urban oasis. The surrounding area is also full of sights perfect for a stroll, including a number of historical heritages, a shopping street that retains its old-fashioned atmosphere, and the waterside scenery that is typical of the water city of Osaka.
