Rokkakudo Temple
Nestled quietly in the heart of Kyoto, Rokkakudo Temple, formally known as Choho-ji, is named after its distinctive hexagonal ("Rokkaku" in Japanese) main hall. The temple grounds house several halls, a pond where Prince Shotoku is said to have bathed, and the "navel stone" marking the center of Kyoto, all narrating the temple's rich history. It is also a pilgrimage stop on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage and constantly visited by worshipers amidst the city's skyscrapers.
