Captain Cook Highway

The Captain Cook Highway runs along the northeast coast of Australia. It connects Cairns with Port Douglas and Daintree National Park in the north. Although it is 75 km long and can be driven in about one to two hours, it is renowned as one of Australia's most scenic highways. It is popular among tourists for its exhilarating drive through the World Heritage-listed rainforest while overlooking the waters of the Great Barrier Reef.

Cairns

Cairns, a flourishing city on the east coast of Australia in northern Queensland, is the gateway to two World Natural Heritage sites: the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef area, and the world's oldest tropical rainforest. The city has a laid-back atmosphere with palm trees lining the seafront, and in addition to fashionable hotels and restaurants, there are many attractive spots such as a zoo where you can hold koalas and a market with a wide variety of souvenirs.
