Nara, Japan
Clouds at Nosegawa Village
Nosegawa Village, located in southwestern Nara Prefecture on the border with Wakayama Prefecture, is the least populated village in Japan outside of the outlying islands. On the northwestern edge of the village, there is a spot where a sea of clouds can be seen all year round, a rarity in Japan. Early in the morning, a mysterious sight spreads out before your eyes: the beautiful mountain ridges of Okuyoshino peeking out from the sea of clouds. Despite the inconvenient accessibility of this spot, it has become a popular spot for visitors to see the sea of clouds at a high rate throughout the year.
Okuyoshino
Okuyoshino, located in the southernmost part of Nara Prefecture, is separated from the outside world by the Kii Mountains and still retains its own culture and dialect. The unexplored region, accessible only by bus or car, is home to the World Heritage Kumano Pilgrimage Route, a suspension bridge over a river, beautiful water-filled valleys, and mountains with spectacular views of the Kii Mountains. While staying in this luxurious hot spring resort with hot spring water flowing directly from the source, you can fully enjoy the deep nature and culture of the area.
