Tamsui

Tamsui, a district of New Taipei City at the mouth of the Tamsui River northwest of Taipei, was home to Spanish and Dutch settlements in the 17th century and later flourished as Taiwan’s largest port in the late 19th century. Western-style buildings from that era still stand today, reflecting its rich history. Famous for its beautiful sunsets, the waterfront is lined with shops selling local snacks and souvenirs, offering a delightful blend of scenic views and lively street life.
