Kerameikos

The ruins of Kerameikos lie quietly to the northwest of the Acropolis and Agora in Athens. Although there are no large artifacts and it is hard to tell at first glance, it is in fact an ancient cemetery dating back to the third millennium B.C. In the marshy area along the Eridanos River, there are grave marker carvings from various periods and the remains of a city wall and a gateway built in the 5th century B.C. Visitors can relax and immerse themselves in the ancient world at this quiet site, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
