Frankfurt, Germany
Main River
The Main River is a 524 km long river originating in Bavaria, Germany. It flows from east to west, passes through the state of Hesse, and joins the Rhine, one of Europe's leading international rivers, at Mainz. Along the coast are Bamberg, with its beautiful medieval townscape; Würzburg, the starting point of the Romantic Road; and Frankfurt, a major industrial city, each with its own distinctive waterfront and cityscape.
Frankfurt am Main
Frankfurt am Main is Germany's air gateway and flourishing economic center. The old town with its medieval streets and modern skyscrapers are side by side, creating an impressive landscape. The contrast between the old and new city can be seen from the cathedral tower and the observation deck of the Main Tower. There is also a museum area and a promenade along the Main River, which is a perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
