Asilah

About 30 kilometers south of Tangier is the quiet port town of Asilah, which faces the Atlantic Ocean. The historical town, which has been a Phoenician trading post since 1500 B.C., is famous as a resort town where people from Europe come to vacation and, in recent years, as a center for the arts. During the annual art festival, the white walls of the old town are decorated with colorful artworks, attracting many visitors.
