Miyazaki, Japan
Cape Toi
Located at the southernmost tip of Miyazaki Prefecture and surrounded on three sides by the sea, Cape Toi is a treasure trove of nature. The landscape here is made special by the Misaki horses, wild horses that devote themselves to grazing on the lush green grass against the backdrop of the majestic Hyuga Sea. In addition to taking a leisurely stroll on the hill where the horses live, visitors can explore various other sights, including a lighthouse with a broad view of the sea, a shrine dedicated to the god of safe navigation, and a native Japanese sago palm colony.
Nichinan
Located in the southern part of Miyazaki Prefecture, Nichinan is a warm and pleasant area with a tropical atmosphere. Along the Nichinan Phoenix Road, which runs along the coast, there are many places of interest, such as Aoshima Island, a power spot with lush subtropical vegetation, and Sun Messe Nichinan, where moai statues stand side by side. Obi, a castle town that retains the atmosphere of the Edo period, and Aburatsu, a port town with a nostalgic atmosphere, are also attractive and unique towns in the area.
