Sawa no Ike
Sawa no Ike is a pond that appears in the mountains after entering a forest road from Nakagawa, a village in the mountains of Kyoto City's Ukyo Ward. The pond is a man-made reservoir built in the late Edo period for agricultural work, but when you look at the surface of the water standing quietly in the greenery, you will feel the mystery of nature that you cannot believe is man-made. This pond is said to be one of the most secluded places in Kyoto, and it has become a resting place for people who enjoy outdoor activities.
Takao
Takao has been a famous place for autumn leaves since ancient times and has been written about in poetry. You can enjoy the contrast between the colored leaves of the historic temples and shrines, the Kiyotaki River, and the Kitayama cedars in the surrounding forest. It is also a valuable spot where you can enjoy the cool and refreshing atmosphere created by the river and the trees, and where Kawadoko is served in summer.
