Blossoms of Rokudo Bank
Takato Castle Ruins Park is the most famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Ina City, but the cherry blossoms of Rokudo Bank, located about 4 km from the park, have also long been a favorite cherry blossom viewing spot for local people. About 120 cherry trees, including Takato-kohigan-zakura and someiyoshino cherry trees, bloom around a reservoir built in the Edo period (1603-1868). Visitors can enjoy the beautiful contrast between the cherry blossoms and the surrounding scenery, such as pine trees growing on an island in the reservoir, daffodils blooming at the foot of the cherry trees, and the snow-covered ridges of the Central Alps in the distance.
Ina Valley
Sandwiched between the Central and Southern Alps, the Ina Valley stretches along the rich flow of the Tenryu River. There are many sunny days, and the blue skies and snow-capped mountains surrounding the area provide wonderful scenery. There is no end to the fun that can be had by experiencing the bounty of nature, from exploring the variety of local delicacies such as rice, buckwheat, and fruits, to enjoying various activities such as camping and trekking.
