Haneji Inland Sea
The sea surrounded by Motobu Peninsula on the main island of Okinawa and Yagaji Island and Ou Island on the east is called Haneji Inland Sea. The shallow sea, with a maximum depth of 10 meters, is covered with mud flats and mangrove forests, where you can see many small creatures and the water birds that hunt them. The most popular way to spend your time here is to relax and enjoy fishing or take a drive around the Inland Sea, admiring the peaceful scenery.
Churaumi Aquarium Area, Okinawa Island
The Churaumi Aquarium is the first place that comes to mind for many people when they think of sightseeing on the main island of Okinawa. One of the world's largest aquariums, which recreates the majestic world of the sea as it is, is gaining popularity. The area around Motobu Peninsula, where the aquarium is located, is also full of historical and natural attractions such as the ruins of Nakijin Castle, a World Heritage Site, Kori Island where you can enjoy a drive on the sea, and beaches full of activities.
