Bern, Switzerland
Kornhaus Bridge
The Kornhaus Bridge over the River Aare is an arch bridge connecting the Old City of Bern with the district on the northern bank. It is 382 meters long and about 12.6 meters wide, and spans the valley at a height of about 50 meters above the water. The bridge, with sidewalks on both sides for vehicles and trams, is an important transportation route for citizens, and at the same time, it is known for its beautiful view over the valley and the wonderful scenery seen from the bridge.
Bern
The capital of Switzerland, Bern, overlooking the Bernese Alps to the south, was founded at the end of the 12th century by Duke Berthold V of Zähringen on a small hill surrounded on three sides by the winding River Aare. The city's stone cathedral, clock tower, arcades, and numerous fountains decorated with ornate sculptures are all part of the medieval atmosphere of this World Heritage-listed city, which can be viewed from nearby Rose Garden.
